The River Moy is known as Ireland’s Premier Salmon River “Salmon Capital of Ireland”. It is in fact well known across Europe with many tourist’s visiting Ballina for a few days fishing The River Moy. Along with Salmon, you might also enjoy fishing for Sea Trout.

The fishing season runs from February 1st to September 30th each year.  It is advisable to check in with ghillies and anglers to confirm the local rules, rates and how to obtain a permit to fish on The River Moy.

There are several beats along The Moy for fishing, The Ridgepool, The Cathedral Beat, The Ash Tree Pool to name but a few. These must be booked in advance and each beat has a different rate.
